CHENNAI: Revenue authorities sealed the EVP film city at Chembarambakkam, outskirts of Chennai, on Wednesday as shooting for Bigg Boss Malayalam continued in the lockdown despite a ban on film and television production.
It is believed that a few workers on the set also tested positive for the COVID-19.
According to sources, the EVP film city started the shooting on February 7 and was scheduled to end on June 6. A part of the premise was allotted for Bigg Boss Malayalam shooting, said the police.

In what has come as an unexpected piece of news, the EVP film city at Chennai’s Cmbarambakkam, where the third season of Malayalam Bigg Boss is being shot, was sealed on Wednesday. As per the reports on The Hindu, the shooting for the show continued despite the Tamil Nadu government imposed a ban on shootings of film and television during the pandemic. It is to be noted that the makers went ahead with the shooting process even after eight of the workers tested positive for COVID-19.

The EVP film city at Chembarambakkam was sealed on Wednesday as shooting for Bigg Boss Malayalam continued despite the ban on film and television shoots during the pandemic and after eight of the workers tested positive for COVID-19.
Officials led by Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), Thiruvallur, Preethi Parkavi, along with the police, vacated all contestants, cameramen, technicians and other staff of the production house. They locked the premises and sealed it as per procedure.
Ms. Parkavi told The Hindu, “The shooting was going on despite there being a ban. Hence, we vacated them and sealed the premises as per guidelines of the government which prohibited such shooting during the pandemic.
