Less than two weeks after cyclone Michaung, rain has returned to Tamil Nadu, including Chennai. Over the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall has been reported in various regions of South Tamil Nadu, North Coastal Tamil Nadu, and North Interior Tamil Nadu. The India Meteorological Department attributes this rain to a cyclonic circulation over the equatorial Indian Ocean and the southwest Bay of Bengal near the south Sri Lanka coast.
