Kota Kinabalu: The 60-year-old woman who was seriously injured after being hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in Foh Sang, here, on July 4, died on Tuesday.
Dog-owners in one part of Luyang have been urged to take more care while driving out of and back into their homes, in case their pets got loose from their compounds.
A spokeswoman for the agency’s Health and Environment Department said they had been asked to restrain their canines properly inside their yards prior to opening their front gates
PAPAR District Council and City Hall (DBKK) technicians were urged to step up their surveillance of Jalan Papar Spur and Taman Luyang after problems with the photocells for the streetlights left these areas poorly lit for some time, recently.
The Penampang District Council, meanwhile, hopes to restore the illumination along a section of Jalan Bundusan by next month, once a new control panel for the streetlights here has been installed.
This action follows feedback from a Papar motorist and homeowners – in Luyang and Penampang – about irregularities involving the public lighting at these locations.
The former couldn’t understand why the streetlights on Jalan Papar Spur were switched on during the day but not at night.
The Luyang ratepayer said most of the common areas around her neighbourhood were shrouded in darkness as the lights only functioned intermittently
