On given there are many bart stations in San Francisco. But every person who ive experienced with has come to take a look at it who uses a wheelchair, everyone has walked away saying the same thing. Wow, i knew that there was a problem because everyone was upset about it. I had no idea how bad it was until i actually tried to use it using my wheelchair. So, weve got to keep up the fight and weve got to let bart know this is important to us. Okay. Roland, do you mind if i give out your phone number and website address to the audience . The schools were selected when we submitted the grant in 2011. They were some of the ones that were recipients of the School Improvement grants and i dont know the full story behind these schools but i think the School Improvement grant and some of the most in need. So thats so there is seven in the district but we only picked four and as far as the Community Hubs and maybe kevin and or car lean can address. I appreciate the way the schools were picked. I im more interested in how the schools were picked and how that plays out in the community. I guess well have to stay and figure out. We are just starting implementation on july 1st. Im not quite sure how to answer that yet because i think we are still building what that could look like, but over the next 5 years, we really want to address all the schools in the mission and start working with all the schools in the mission but well need Additional Resources to expand for the 5 years. I appreciate that and i trust that we are very dedic
Enforcement. In terms of the bike strategy, we have a whole presentation to talk about the bike strategy. There is a highlight what we estimated was a 6year need of 190 million for the strategic goals. What we anticipate is 160 million over the course of the 5 years. That includes some of the major corridor improvements that might be in other lines of the capital plan. It doesnt include, anticipate a 24 million of hopefully private or other money for bike share which we believe is a significant part of getting the mode shift that we are achieving. You can see what we can achieve in our cip. It doesnt quite fulfill the objectives of the biking strategy. This doesnt count the next billion dollars of transportation of 2030 recommended revenue which would be that november 2016 sales tax. Even with what we have today we can get about 75 percent of the way there towards our goal. I will have a lot more on. I know folks are interested. I have a whole separate presentation where i will explain
Federal buildings that were either occupied or people protested in front of them across the country. Everywhere else, they were starved out. New york, washington, whatever, the police came in or the people in the community refused to help them. In the bay area, what was amazing is you had this coalition of community groups, of politicians, of people that really cared about disability rights. Or if they didnt care, they learned to care. And this was partly because of activism of the disability rights, the organizers at the protest. They had sewn seed all over the community and the bay area. So, you had this amazing phenomena where youd have like the black panthers, ~ safeway, mcdonalds, glide memorial church. All these amazing bay area institutions contributing to the protest in some way, bringing in, in the case of the black panthers, they brought in hot food. They brought in politicians had showers brought in. So, it was possible for it to happen because the local political people rea
