I am the associate director for publications and program at the National Trust for Historic Preservation. I help build the Digital Content for preservation leadership forum. I spent a lot of time thinking about how we can tell the full American History for underrepresented communities across the United States. Im a public historian by training and Historic Preservation by way of being at the trust for 13 years. I believe they work handinhand. I thought i would start by telling a few of the things we have been doing at the National Trust over the years for women to history.
And forcing candidates to address what we need that maybe participation will be more robust, united around not just talking points like rebuilding the middle class. We are united around the rules we shifted and how to change those rules and we have a way to determine who is with us and against us. We find elected officials who will. That is how we look at politics and electoral organizing. This excites me about your work and it describes that work. It is something we all want, fundamental to our species but work that can be joyful and imaginative and worth thinking about new worlds and the reason for that is they feel it is the grim work of reinforcing status quo.
