Between kamala harris and donald trump here in the battleground state of pennsylvania. The rivals will go head to head to win the white house in what many experts say will undoubtedly be a close race. The debate will be 90 minutes long with two commerical breaks here in philadelphia at the national constitution center. The us network abc news is hosting the debate. There will be no audience in attendance, and the candidates microphones will be muted when they are not speaking. It comes at a pivotal moment in the campaign, with both harris and trump aiming to win over undecided voters in key swing states. if that case may be how do they differ from each other? they re both battling to be the straight talk candidate, aren t they, on the right? that s right. there s going to be a lot of competition right now for the same parts of the field right now. there is going to be a lot of people battling for the social conservative candidate, for the street talker for the moderate for the libertarian just because there are so many candidates running at once. i think the big challenge you ll see, and it s going to get more and more intense as advertising money starts flowing in as people get on the stage together, but the challenge is going to be how do you distinguish yourself when people are really gunning for the exact same position as you within the party, within the field? is it 14 now? we ve got a lot to watch, all three of us for the next couple of months at least. thank you very much. i appreciate both your time. political journal s erin pike
i m not saying there is depth but i think they are trying to speak on a grander scale. it s interesting in the context of the last presidential contenders. if sarah palin had said this, if people not assumed to be fit for office say it most women candidates would say this it would be treated as a bigger gaffe. he will get away with it and go away because there is an underlying idea that mitt romney is smart and competent and his foibles relate to authenticity, some of the things sam was talking about earlier. having said that on the substance it is absurd to look at our world stage and the threats we face from terrorism, the middle east, iran and economically from a growing china and say the geopolitically in the way the nations deal with each other russia is the problem. this shows, the fact it could leave his mouth shows a great problem in his mind. romney s always been sort of this tough talk candidate and de facto he will go to militancy.
