PETALING JAYA, May 27 Financial services company Sun Life is confident it will continue reaping the growth potential offered in the Malaysian market by riding on its strong.
The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) would like takaful operators in Malaysia to offer affordable takaful products suitable for the risk needs of gig economy workers. MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said gig economy workers are exposed to dangers and risks, such as accidents and loss of property.
MALAYAN Banking Bhd’s (Maybank) insurance and takaful arm Etiqa International Holdings Sdn Bhd (EIH) broke a five-year streak of gross written premium (GWP) growth last year, weighed down by a restructuring of its products in the Singapore market. It expects a strong rebound this year, however, with GWPs likely to see double-digit growth. The group's general insurance business is expected to drive results.
