They did an incredible job controlling it. These are very Old Buildings and very old wood inside there. So it burns extremely fast. 22yearold transient Andrew Gutierrez and 27yearold Steven Peterson of alameda are behind bars accused of starting the eight fires around a 7block radius in alameda between 1 00 and 5 00 sunday morning. In alameda this morning, firefighters rushed to eight different fires in a sevenblock area. Officers say they caught two men who had torched the homes, businesses and cars, maul the space of four hours. Business ownersni and neighbors theyre stunned by this. We spoke with them, and they say they dont know why anyone would want to set a series of fires that caused this kind of damage. They say someone actually stayed in that unit up above. Down below you see a series of minivans. Were told those were used for deliveries for a business. And now some Business Owners say it will be a real struggle to bounce back. The fires popped up quickly overnight one after another, keeping firefighters moving in alameda, cars, trash bins, businesses, and even homes damaged. And i looked out the window, and it was justxd fire. Claims all the
