GPs say people are having to travel hundreds of kilometres just to get a 15 minute doctors consult, amid the doctors shortage that's seen half the country's clinics close their books to new patients. The boy, from the Kaikohe area, was sent home from Tautoro School on February 12 by a teacher for being unwell, before being admitted to Bay of Islands Hospital and later to Whangārei Hospital.
