ADVentura The Navigator Adding Francis D. Corona
The ADVentura The Navigator line from ADV & McKay Cigars is getting a new size this spring, a 6 x 44 parejo called the Francis D. Corona.
The name is a nod to Sir Francis Drake, a famous 16th century English explorer who is known for circumnavigating the globe in a single expedition from 1577 to 1580. His accomplishments also include sailing into the Pacific Ocean and claiming an area of what is now modern-day California for England, igniting conflict between Spain and England.
“We took a page from this naval officer’s will and perseverance to create a new size to expand the Navigator portfolio but maintain the Navigator blend and flavor profile,” said Marcel Knobel of ADV & McKay.

I smoke far fewer lanceros these days than I used to, but it’s still pretty clear that this isn’t a proper lancero. It’s close to a lancero and certainly not a Churchill but I feel some sort of obligation to point out that 42 ring gauge is not a lancero, but rather a Lonsdale, though this is on the longer end of that designation. One cigar has a cracked foot, but otherwise the cigars look fairly appetizing, or as appetizing as a cigar can be given my plans are to smoke it and not eat it. The aroma from the wrapper smells of barnyard over nuttiness and some cocoa. From the foot, I pick up a much sweeter aroma with earthiness, white pepper and a floral sensation that reminds me a bit of daffodils. The cold draw varies; two cigars have some of that daffodil flavor along with bourbon, gingerbread and a honey-like sweetness. Another has a muc

I’m not sure what else one could really focus on when looking at the Room101 Death Bucket 2 other than the band, and I will admit, it is eye-catching and done well, even if not embossed or treated with shiny gold ink. In holding two of the samples, the fingers get a generally smooth, slightly oily feel from the wrapper, which also shows off a bit of its elasticity. Veins are incredibly small, tooth is nonexistent, and the color is a very well-tanned shade that reminds me of nuts or toffee depending on the sample and lighting. The only knock on the leaf is that it is clearly two different shades between the upper and lower halves, but that is simply a fairly minor visual concern and limited to the first sample. The third cigar is quite different with a rougher cover leaf that seems a shade or two darker than the others while offering slightly bigger veins and what appears to be a patch job just above the band. The feet of two cigars offer a ver
German Engineered Cigars, the company behind the RVGN Rauchvergnügen line, has announced its next blend, NN.

to be named the line is being created for the consumer to focus on the cigar itself. As such, everything is quite minimal.
The first NN is NN01, a 7 x 48 Churchill that is being produced at Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic. In keeping with the idea that the consumers should focus on the cigar itself, the blend details are not being disclosed though the company says the cigar is “medium-bodied.” The packaging is also quite minimal and the company says there will be “no distracting story” for the cigars.
