Old Bridge reports 211 new COVID-19 cases in a week, township loses seven more residents
OLD BRIDGE – Old Bridge officials reported 211 positive COVID-19 cases over a seven-day period, which brings the total number of cases to 5,117, according to Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry in his coronavirus report on Feb. 3.
The seven-day period is from Jan. 28 to Feb. 2. The township has lost seven more residents to COVID-19, which bring the number of residents lost to 127, according to Middlesex County.
Officials have provided updated charts of the cases, including cases in long-term care facilities and cases in each ward on the township’s website.

OLD BRIDGE – Old Bridge officials reported 392 positive COVID-19 cases over a seven-day period, which brings the total number of cases to 4,606, according to Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry in his coronavirus report on Jan. 20.
The seven-day period is from Jan. 13-20. The township has lost seven more residents to COVID-19, which bring the number of residents lost to 117, according to Middlesex County.
Officials have provided updated charts of the cases, including cases in long-term care facilities and cases in each ward on the township’s website.
Henry said the township is one of five coronavirus hotspots in Middlesex County on Nov. 10. He said they are working closely with state and county officials to address the concerns.
Old Bridge school officials looking to bring in outside provider to provide COVID-19 vaccine in district
OLD BRIDGE – School officials are working on securing an outside provider to provide the COVID-19 vaccine for its teachers, faculty and staff when the time comes.
Currently, the vaccine is open to healthcare personnel, long-term care residents and staff, first responders and individuals at high risk in category 1A. Teachers are part of category 1B, which also include anyone over 65 and people between 16 and 64 with specific medical issues.
“We can have that vaccine brought to the district within days,” Schools Superintendent David Cittadino said. “Several of our nurses have volunteered to provide the vaccine to our staff.”
