Musical acts take over the stages this weekend with shows ranging from country to doo-wop to BeeGees – all guaranteed for a toe-tapping good time.
Plays return to the theaters in May with The Melon Patch performing “Play it Again, Sam” May 7-23 and “Shady Business” at the Sonnentag Theatre at the IceHouse May 14-June 6.
Opry Night
Them Sweeney Boys are on stage at 7 p.m. Friday for Opry Night at the Living Drama Theatre in Eustis.

The Best of Michael Russo
The old hits never sounded so good with The Best of Michael Russo Saturday and Sunday at the Historic State Theatre in Eustis. Russo’s line-up includes doo-wop, Motown, 70’s old school soul jams, and fabulous songs from the disco era that will have you dancing in the aisles. Families showcase creativity in Art Barn at Lake County Fair

EUSTIS Local painters, designers, photographers and crafters are show off their best work at the new Art Barn at the Lake County Fair.
“We have our new art barn this year ran by Nan Cobb and we are so excited for that,” Fair Manager Stacey Wade said. “We also got some sponsors and upped the prizes this year for our winners.”
The King family returned to their family tradition of entering drawings into the fair competitions this year, with both Madeline, 15, and her brother Max, 9, entering alongside their grandmother, Lyn.

Ferris Wheeler is looking for help
Then just before the gates open, Mayor Ferris Wheeler holds a meet and greet with the crowd and chooses a Jr. Mayor for the night.
“Now I look for a particular child and have certain criteria,” Wheeler said.
Wheeler will pick one child each day when the gates open. The chosen child will receive a special mayor hat, ribbon and free admission to the fair for their whole family.
Kids educational stations are through the main hall
Through the main hall, instead of the traditional site for the fair’s competitions like art and crafts, it is filled with HAYLOFT (Helping All Youth Learn of Farming & Technology) exhibits. These are educational, interactive stations for kids to experience the fun of agriculture.
