Ferris Wheeler is looking for help
Then just before the gates open, Mayor Ferris Wheeler holds a meet and greet with the crowd and chooses a Jr. Mayor for the night.
“Now I look for a particular child and have certain criteria,” Wheeler said.
Wheeler will pick one child each day when the gates open. The chosen child will receive a special mayor hat, ribbon and free admission to the fair for their whole family.
Kids educational stations are through the main hall
Through the main hall, instead of the traditional site for the fair’s competitions like art and crafts, it is filled with HAYLOFT (Helping All Youth Learn of Farming & Technology) exhibits. These are educational, interactive stations for kids to experience the fun of agriculture.
