The 65-year-old Detroiter died Dec. 17 at Henry Ford Hospital from Covid after being on a ventilator since Nov. 27. Admirers, who must be masked, can pay respects from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Greater Grace Temple, 23500 W. 7 Mile Rd. (between Berg and Telegraph roads). Napoleon had just been re-elected in November, when he was unopposed..

Public viewings begin Monday in Detroit for Sheriff Benny Napoleon By FOX 2 Staff A second viewing will be held on Tuesday before a private funeral takes place later this week.  Public viewings for Sheriff Benny Napoleon begin this week in Detroit Two public viewings will be held Dec. 28 and Dec. 29 for Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon, who died earlier this month at the age of 65 after contracting COVID-19. The first public viewing is Monday, December 28 at Swanson Funeral home from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Swanson Funeral home is located at 806 East Grand Boulevard in Detroit.  Then on Tuesday, December 29, at Greater Grace Temple, from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Greater Grace Temple is located at 23500 West Seven Mile in Detroit.

New COVID-19 order in effect in Michigan, Biden getting vaccinated, Congress reaches stimulus deal By FOX 2 Staff (FOX 2) - A new COVID-19 epidemic order goes into effect Monday from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The new order lifts some of the restrictions that were set in place Nov. 15 in a pause to save lives, and extends others. Casinos, movie theaters, bowling alleys and in-person learning at high schools and universities are allowed to reopen and resume. Other restrictions initially set on Nov. 15 have been extended, meaning indoor dining is still prohibited, night clubs are still closed and organized indoor sports are still barred. Workplaces, when work can be done from home, are also not allowed to reopen yet, and group fitness classes are still not allowed to resume. These restrictions are still in place until Jan. 15, 2021.

Sheriff Benny Napoleon s family announced Sunday information regarding his funeral arrangements via his Facebook page.  Public viewings are scheduled for Monday, December 28, at Swanson Funeral home from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Swanson Funeral home is located at 806 East Grand Boulevard in Detroit.  Public viewing arrangements for Sheriff Benny Napoleon Then on Tuesday, December 29, at Greater Grace Temple, from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Greater Grace Temple is located at 23500 West Seven Mile in Detroit.  Mask and social distancing are required.  The family says they will have a private funeral service.
