Date Time Woman seriously injured after car and pedestrian crash – Caringbah South An investigation is underway after a woman was struck by a vehicle in Sydney’s south today. About 12.40am (Sunday 2 May 2021), emergency services were called to Ash Avenue, Caringbah South, after reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attended and found a woman – believed to be in her late 20s – trapped beneath a white Toyota hatchback. Fire and Rescue NSW, with the assistance of NSW Ambulance paramedics, eventually freed the woman about 2am. She was taken to St George Hospital in a serious condition with significant leg and arm injuries.

About 8.40pm (Saturday 2 May 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection of Old Illawarra Road and New Illawarra Road, Menai, after reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. A 14-year-old girl was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics. She was taken to St George Hospital, before being transferred to Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick in a critical condition. The male driver of a van was taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory testing.

Teenager stabbed at Penrith

An investigation is underway following an alleged stabbing in Sydney’s west overnight. About 11.50pm (Saturday 1 May 2021), emergency services responded to reports of an injured man in a car park on Mulgoa Road, near the intersection of Jamison Road, Penrith. Upon arrival, officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command found a teenage boy with a stab wound to his side. The 16-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Westmead Hospital in a stable condition. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
