The new assault charges against the son of a former county official, which come years after dropped sexual assault charges in a separate case against him lead to a fight between State Police and local prosecutors, were domestic in nature, court documents show.
Ian Schweizer, 38, faces simple assault charges after police were called to a Sandyston home on April 21 for a report of a sexual assault, court records show.
Schweizer was previously accused of attacking a woman outside a bar and was charged, but the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office decided there was not enough evidence, kicking off a years long battle with corruption allegations levied by both agencies.
