The Privileges Committees of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are scheduled to meet next week, where 14 opposition MPs will be given an opportunity to put across their views over the issue of their suspension for unruly conduct during the Winter Session.
Opposition members suspended from parliament are unable to attend parliamentary standing committee meetings even after both houses of parliament adjourned sine die. The parliamentary affairs ministry claims there is no delay in prorogation, and both houses can be prorogued in a day or two. In the winter session, 146 MPs of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were suspended.
