Carlos Perez, the beloved coach of the city’s gymnastics program, started as a volunteer decades ago.

Plano Aerobats head coach Carlos Perez has retired after more than 30 years of leading the city’s popular gymnastics program.
He trained generations of young athletes over the years, and many of them returned to work with him as assistant coaches, according to a news release from the city announcing Perez’s retirement.
