records, the expensive committee review, policy and analysis, emails, statements made by the administration and they are basically arguing that the administration is doing sort of all it can to prevent us from doing exploration that would lead to the decline of our gas prices. susan, what say you? well, first of all i think politically it makes me smile. i mean, the notion that any administration would sit around and think, here is a really good idea, martha, let s get those gas prices up because that will help us in an election. i just find that laughable, and more to the point substantively it was just a few weeks ago that the president came up with a new policy on exploration, and the best republicans could do was say, my goodness it took him too long. i think the president is walking this one right down the middle and doing so effectively. martha: that was one of the first things that kaurd to me ke
honest can avoid acknowledging that sometimes, at least, we kid ourselves into believing that gas is really cheaper than its overall cost to us. and that means we have to develop more, and conserve more. martha: the heart of the matter is this. susan. martha: lars you can address this. in terms of our own natural resources in this country the things that haven t been tapped into, the possibility of drilling off of our own shores and a lot of team have been much in favor of a comprehensive approach that they don t feel this administration is tapping into that could have a quick impact on some of these prices. yes it could. we could create jobs, create revenues for the federal government through leases. susan is ignoring the fact that president obama, who i m sure she voted for wished for electricity prices, for example to skyrocket. and the policies of his administration have been to push back on coal, to push back on
oil drilling. he s against those things because he wants prices to go up. it s the only way you re going to force people to useless. but i don t believe in making americans do that. i believe in america pursuing all of its natural resources, you tell me, susan, that you think this administration is in favor of using our coal or using our oil or building nukes the way the chinese are. martha: a couple of seconds, susan. i think this administration is in favor of a balanced energy policy, which earns it critics on both sides but probably proves that most americans agree witness. martha: thank you very much. susan estritch, lars larson. good to have you both. martha: breaking news from inside the courtom. this is a stunning development that we just watched cross the wires moments ago in casey anthony s trial which has just got even underway today. she is accused of killing her daughter kay hraoefpl you re

tee and beck and megyn and susan and everybody else talking about my book. you and i talked about this during the oil spill. i thought the president didn t do enough to deal with the perception issue. i thought he was too busy during the oil spill meeting with people and trying to do the right thing, but not paying enough attention to perception. you know, i mean he deals with incoming garbage every day, you know. bobby jindal s six-month little criticism i don t think carries much water. megyn: he s attempting to paint a portrait of a president who can t take criticism. he said specifically that president obama pulled him aside and said don t go on tv and criticize me. he didn t want him going on television and publicly airing criticisms of the president. maureen dodd, liberal hard left columnist for the new york times. sometimes. megyn: she came out in i think june of 2010 and said this
