By Janene Scully, Noozhawk North County Editor | @JaneneScully February 1, 2021 | 12:02 p.m. Train tracks made impassable by last week’s rain storms, interfering with Amtrak passenger service between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, should be repaired this week, according to Union Pacific representatives. The weather-related damage to the tracks prompted Amtrak to suspend all Pacific Surfliner service at the Surf Station west of Lompoc. Alternate bus service has been provided for other areas, Amtrak officials aid. Heavy rains caused a track washout north of Lompoc, according to a statement from Union Pacific. “We are working to repair the damage and anticipate that the track will be reopened later this week,  said Union Pacific spokeswoman Elizabeth Graham.
