Cooperative leaders from Union Ministers to NCUI President to IFFCO MD and others all of them have greeted women cooperators on the occasion of International Women’s Day reiterating their commitment to help them have pride of place in the cooperative world. Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Agriculture Minister on the occasion of International Women Day has inaugurated the regional Agricultural Fair organized by the Central Agricultural University, Imphal.

Changing Lives: India is proud of its women co-operators

It is time to appreciate and buck up women co-operators who have made the country proud by empowering and making poor women self-reliant. Several such women leaders are doing praiseworthy work in not only help fighting the domestic violence but also making helpless women stand on their feet economically. There are several cooperatives in the country including Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), Working Women Forum (WWF-ICNF) and others who are wholly working for the upliftment of women. Indian Cooperative movement indeed has several women who are spearheading the movement in their own way. A few names such as SEWA’s Ela Bhatt, WWF’s Nandini Azad, Surekha Khot, Asha Snegar, Sadhana Jadhav, Arti Bisaria, SEWA’s Mirai Chatterjee, Alka Srivastava, Bhavana Gondaliya etc immediately come to mind.

NCUI: Rajasthan women co-ops get trained by NCCE

NCCE of NCUI recently conducted a three-day Leadership Development Program for Chairpersons and Directors of Rajasthan Mahila Cooperatives. It was a syllabus tailored to the objectives of improving their managerial skills and ensuring supply of clean milk at their village dairies. About 55 women leaders attended the programs and completed successfully. The program was organised through Webex due to the COVID 19 a pandemic, says a press release. Dr V.K. Dubey, Executive Director, NCCE informed the participants about the significance of Dairy cooperatives and their effective role in the dairy development in India. Dubey also discussed Cooperative Values and Principles. Mrs. Vimlesh Rathore Deputy Director NCDC anchored the session on Dairy Development Schemes of NCDC for Cooperative Development.
