The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) on Monday again awarded ₹2 crore to an aspiring model as compensation for a bad haircut, after the case was remanded to it by the Supreme Court in February.
The top court dismissed a plea filed by former Chhattisgarh Principal Secretary Aman Singh and his wife Yasmin Singh seeking the transfer of all disproportionate assets cases against them to the CBI.
The Court urged the Central Government's Ministry of Power (MOP), to consider evolving a mechanism so as to ensure that unnecessary and unwarranted litigation under the Electricity Act 2003, is curbed.
