asking, ah, chief justice roberts to do an investigation. i think that s the first step we ought to take and the odds of getting an impeachment or they re lying, slim. they re not because it would have to go through the that house republican leadership would not entertain it. uh folks wouldn t be there and ty certainly would be a hearing in judiciary committee. i know i appreciate the congress person koziol cortez for her passion, and i thought about it for a second. but after i thought about it, i think after she thought about it, it s just not gonna happen. and she said, well, that s where they investigation should take place. the supreme court didn t do a very good job on investigating the leak that they had some months ago, but they judiciary committee wouldn t look at it. they would have to decide they were going to take it up and they are not going to happen in the judiciary committee will have to happen. supreme court and i think the letter it was a good idea and
we felt that day with 50 years of constitutional precedent was overturned. the unbelievable fact that for the first time in our history, the supreme court didn t just fail to preserve a constitutional freedom. it actually took away the right that was so fundamental to america. reporter: twice the president called on voters to remember the day that the supreme court struck down roe versus wade. again, an implicit acknowledgement they feel that some of the energy has waned. that energy was very real. democratic officials in minnesota, in nebraska, a victory in new york, obviously the ballot measure in kansas that was decisively rejected in a ruby red state, as clear signals this was a salient issue that could play. obviously the economy is becoming a major issue and has sustained as such. the president will be talking about that tomorrow as well, but a clear effort to reassert
we have to go to the president right now. especially when it comes to the right to choose. on january 22, 1973 i hate to admit this. i was a freshman in the united states senator and the supreme court issued a decision on roe v. wade, establishing a constitutional right to choose. nearly 50 years later, on june 24th of this year, the court issued the dobbs decision, a woman all across the country, starting in my house, women lost the right. i want to remind us all how we felt that day when 50 years of constitutional precedent was overturned. i m going to use this mike, if it s okay. the anger, the worry, the disbelief, the unbelievable fact that for the first time in our history, the supreme court
so big. first of all it, involves the former president, materials from his estate at mar-a-lago, materials that the department of justice says have national security implications. so it s all cloaked in everything that has to do with donald trump and it comes to the supreme court at a time when the court itself is under intense scrutiny because of how much it reordered national life during its most recent term but the actual question was very narrow and the department of justice does not want to turn over to the special master for review and the departments says there are national security implications here. now the supreme court has coming to the supreme court in this emergency posture as the former president has done, he needs five votes, he has to also show that there would be some harm to him if the supreme court didn t intervene at this point
here? they got the grass ring, roe versus wade was overturned by the supreme court, but some of these things, some of the cases are objectively extreme, no matter your belief on abortion. one in four american women had abortions, and that means quite a lot of men know women who had one. there is probably more sympathy for people who had them, an understanding of why women have abortions and the very difficult circumstances that lead to abortions than one might expect around the country. then you have, on top of that, cases of women who are going through miscarriages, who need the dnc procedure to save their lives or to save their health because they re going through terrible medical complications around a miscarriage. the doctor has to say, i m sorry, i m not sure i can do that. in this state, this procedure is banned. you know, perhaps the supreme court didn t think this through, but the consequences of what has happened because of that ruling have sent shockwaves around the count
