How better to spend Christmas Morning, than in the company of the Pop Fugitives, as they unwrap some of the finest, independent, or just plain obscure Christmas songs out there, whilst regaling their tales of seasonal joy or more often folly. Armed with Christmas biscuits (naturally), their new and one-off game Mince Pie Roulette , and some bespoke and possibly unsafe Christmas crackers, Paul and Carolyn will be playing records to get you in the festive mood. There ll be some Christmas features, inevitably a song by Slade, talk of Christmas No.1s, and guidance on how to avoid brussels sprouts. Plus they present Christmas Carolyn , who will be attempting to bring home to Paul the joys of the season and stop him from being a Scrooge. Bah humbug! Tune in on Christmas Day from 9am to 1pm.

Starting Sunday with a dive into all of the best in new music, this week’s Sunday Escape has Paul and Carolyn playing tracks from Nia Archives, The Queen’s Head, Modern Studies, and Slaney Bay, plus a taste of new albums from Jemma Freeman and the Cosmic Something, Stormzy and The Lightning Kids. The week also saw the release of a new David Bowie box set containing tracks and previously unreleased demos recorded in the run up to the release of his 1971 album Hunky Dory, so there’ll be a track from that. Wilko Johnson of Dr. Feelgood sadly passed away this week, so there’s a tribute to him, as well as some discussion of Black Friday’s Record Store Day. That’s plus all of the usual features, with the debut release from a classic and sometimes shambolic Minnesota rock band, a track from an indie band that never made it big, plus a brand new Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz. All that and biscuits too! Tune in from 9am to 1pm.
