An overview Golden Horizon is the world’s largest square-rigged sailing vessel. A near replica of the 1913-built ocean vessel, France II, she retains the charm, adventure, and romance of an historic ship. The ship uses the wind and currents and follows the sun to allow adventure seekers to travel the world in a unique way. Tradewind’s philosophy is to be powered by nature whenever possible and they intend to sail, without using propulsion, for around 70 per cent of each season. SunStone’s next-gen expedition ships wrap up sea trials February 15, 2021, by Naida Hakirevic
Two next-generation Infinity-class vessels being built for SunStone Ships by China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) have successfully completed sea trials, the Florida-based company said.
On 22 January 2021, the sea trials began for Ocean Victory and Ocean Explorer, the third and the fourth Infinity-class units. They consisted of five days of intense testing of each vessel’s system while underway in the South China Sea.
Over 150 people from the shipyard, Bureau Veritas, managers crew (CMI), and SunStone Marine Advisors were onboard each vessel during the trials.
