PoundToy donates over £15,000 of toys to charity this Christmas | Bradford Telegraph and Argus

AN online toy retailer from the district has teamed up with a charity to give away more than £15,000 worth of toys to seriously ill children this Christmas. PoundToy, based at River Technology Park in Keighley, has joined forces with Rays of Sunshine, to provide more than 5,000 toys to 333 seriously ill children. They will be given Christmas in a Box , which feature toys, confectionery, craft items, slime, science kits worth nearly £50 each. Rays of Sunshine helps brighten the lives of seriously ill children across the UK, aged three to 18, by granting wishes and providing ongoing support in hospitals.    Over the weekend we teamed up with Rays of Sunshine Children s Charity to help deliver Christmas In a Box to 333 seriously ill children across the UK!

Malvern special families say thanks for crowd-funding support

A crowd-funding drive to help keep Malvern Special Families (MSP) going during Covid has smashed its target. The Space Hive campaign has successfully raised £5455, and Malvern Hills District councillor, Samantha Charles and the CEO of Malvern Special Families, Gareth Jones, are in the mood to celebrate. Cllr Charles said: “Thank you so much to everyone who pledged and shared the campaign far and wide. Malvern Special Families are an organisation close to my heart. As a community midwife at Sunshine Children’s Centre for many years, I loved seeing the family days and holiday clubs being run outside my office and as a parent with a child with special needs, I’m grateful for the support they give to families who need it. I’m delighted the crowdfunding has been so successful.”

Chabad of Briarcliff/Ossining Plans Chanukah Car Menorah Parade

By Sophia Richter | December 10, 2020 Amid the pandemic, Chabad Lubavitch of Briarcliff-Ossining recognized the crucial importance of bringing Chanukah’s message of light and hope to the Jewish community. To accomplish this, while adhering to COVID-19 safety protocol, Chabad will be having a Car Menorah Parade on Sunday, December 13, beginning at 3:30 p.m.. The parade will depart from 15 Campwoods Road in Ossining, traveling to five care facilities in Ossining and Briarcliff: Atria Briarcliff, The Club at Briarcliff Manor, Briarcliff Manor Center for Rehabilitation and Sunshine Children’s Home & Cedar Manor Nursing Center, and culminate in a drive-in giant menorah lighting in Ossining’s Market Square.
