The new stay-at-home order taking effect Thursday across the 11-county Bay Area will make camping in the region off-limits for at least the next three weeks. According to the state’s regional stay-at-home guidelines, “overnight stays at campgrounds will not be permitted.” California State Parks is responding to the new order by closing campsites in Napa, San Mateo, Santa Cruz and Solano counties and canceling about 1,200 camping reservations in those areas through Jan. 7. Campers will be notified via email by ReserveCalifornia, the state’s reservation website, and receive refunds automatically, according to State Parks information officer Adeline Yee.
