As many as 250 women inmates were vaccinated in the third round on Friday. The vaccination special camp was organised in a joint venture by the state prison department and Project Mumbai, a city-based NGO. “Besides vaccinating 250 women inmates of the Byculla Women’s prison on Friday, 20 jail staffers and 75 male inmates (from Byculla men’s prison and some from the Arthur Road jail) were also vaccinated. The women who got vaccination included three foreign nationals as well,” said Shishir Joshi, CEO and founder of Project Mumbai.

Thirty-year-old Avinash Jadhav was, however, rushed to the Nashik civil hospital and his life was saved. Jadhav too has accused the jail officials of harassing him for close to a decade. He claims that more recently, he was targeted for deposing against the officials and supporting Mansooriâs allegations of torture.
