Investigators searching for person of interest in 7-Eleven robbery Published: July 13, 2021 3:39 PM EDT Recommended Investigators in Lee County want the public’s help to name a male person of interest in connection to a robbery that happened at a 7-Eleven in south Fort Myers Tuesday. According to the Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers Facebook post, the robbery took place at the 7-Eleven located at Summerlin Road and Gladiolus Drive. Investigator say the male was wearing a red, flat-brimmed hat and an unknown colored Under Armour-brand shirt. The person of interested got away on foot and possibly traveled north along Winkler Road.

One person injured in possible domestic shooting in Fort Myers

One person was injured in a shooting at a Fort Myers apartment complex Thursday afternoon, according to the Fort Myers Police Department. Several shots were fired at Horizon s Apartments, off Summerlin Road, around 5 p.m., said Kristin Capuzzi, a public information officer with the police department.

New eye institute opening at Golisano Children s Hospital this fall

WINK News has an exclusive first look at a new eye institute opening for children in our area. The building off Summerlin Road and San Carlos Boulevard will double the current exam space offered at Golisano Children’s Hospital. Its long, narrow rooms are also specifically designed for eye exams. The original pediatric ophthalmologist at Golisano, Dr. Jessica Kovarik, says this building and increase in staff will significantly reduce families’ wait times to book an appointment. “The wait was many, many months; I think, at one point, it was something like nine months,” Kovarik said. “I think now it’s a little over a month.”
