On May 15, legendary actor, Freedom Fighter and Parliament Member, Farooque passed away after a lengthy battle with sickness. His loss has been felt by everyone, all over, even in places as far as Australia. That is where National Film Award winning actress and 90s icon, Shabnur is residing.
Legendary actor and freedom fighter Farooque’s contribution to the Bangladeshi film industry is incomparable, having gifted numerous well-loved cinemas. Before the actor fell sick, The Daily Star had spoken to him on multiple occasions, recalling his golden days. Such a narration has been brought forth for the audiences to enjoy, on the eve of actor’s departure.
Legendary actor, Freedom Fighter and Member of Parliament, Farooque has finally returned to his beloved country after 803 days. Sadly, prior to his return, he was engaged in a prolonged battle with an illness that began on March 4, 2021, which ultimately led to his untimely demise.
For the final time, legendary actor Farooque was brought to the courtyard of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), a place that directly witnessed the transformation of Akbar Hossain Pathan into the silver screen’s, “Mia Bhai”.
