WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) New funds donated to the West Terre Haute Police Department will help them add to their k-9 unit.
Tuesday Sugar Creek Scrap in West Terre Haute gave the department a $1,000 check.
The money was raised from their first ever ‘Cars and Coffee’ event held last month.
Police Chief William Bark says, it’s reassuring to see the community give back to officers.
“Sugar Creek Scrap has been really good to us in the past. There’s been some issues here with thieving, we’ve got to know a lot of the people down here and it’s just a lot of good people and they’re just showing it even more,” police chief William Bark said. “It is sometimes surprising and very reassuring to know that the community has our backs.
