Overnight warming shelter coming to Moberly

Moberly Monitor-Index Come next winter, Moberly will officially have an ovenight warming shelter for persons in need when outdoor temperatures are 15 degrees or below. Doors will be open to greet such guests between Nov. 1 and March 31 thanks to efforts coming from members of First Christian Church, United Way of Randolph County and the county s Ministerial Alliance. The process for this community service to materialize had taken more than a year before it finally stringent City of Moberly requirements. As a result, the city council unanimously approved a conditional use permit for the ministerial alliance to operate a temporary warming shelter during its Monday business meeting at City Hall.

Several water related projects on tap for the city

Several water related projects on tap for the city Moberly Monitor-Index Moving forward with several water and sewer related projects as well as providing renovation safety and technology measures for the chamber floor area at Moberly City Hall dominated the list of agenda items that were addressed Tuesday by the city council at its business meeting. L & J Development Inc. of Moberly is hired to perform the renovations at an estimated cost of $49, 920. Work could begin before this week concludes, and the project is expected to take nearly a month to complete providing that materials are available to order. A portion of CARES Act funds will help defray expenses.
