Fenton mayor, three council members seek reelection

Resident wants political signs removed

 During the Fenton City Council meeting Monday, Jan. 11, via Zoom, Fenton resident James Lengel brought forth a concern of his during public comment time.  Lengel told city council that political signs are still up following the Nov. 3 election. “Is the city willing to enforce its code?” he said. He added that there are still flags, banners and signs.  City Manager Lynn Markland said he has seen mostly yard signs.  Lengel said the ordinance is vague and should be revised. “It’s (the signs) divisive,” he said.  Mayor Sue Osborn said, “They need to come down. I totally agree with that.”

Fenton DDA announces eGift card program

The city of Fenton Downtown Development Authority (DDA), in partnership with the city of Fenton, is proud to announce an exciting new initiative to help support the local business community called the “Fenton Community Dollars eGift Card” program. “During these difficult times, and now more than ever, the objective is to keep shopping local. We wanted something different to ramp-up our continued support of the Fenton business community,” Mayor Sue Osborn said. Keeping Dollars Local Exclusive to Fenton DDA businesses and specifically members of the “Safe, Strong & Supportive Campaign,” this is the first digital eGift Card program to be redeemable at any of Fenton’s participating restaurants, retailers and personal service providers, all in the Fenton DDA district (more join each day).
