âAlmost 10,000 eGift cards were purchased through the âFenton Community Dollars eGift Cardâ program meant to help local businesses survive during the pandemic.
âAs of April 12, at 10:45 a.m., the city had sent out 9,660 eGift cards, including cards with matching funds from the city, that will be spent locally at participating businesses.
âMichael Hart, assistant city manager and executive director of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), presented the information to the Fenton DDA on Tuesday, April 20.
ââThe outpouring of support to businesses has been overwhelming ⦠It helps (people) if they are struggling financially because they have more buying power and they could use that at local businesses,â Hart said. âPeople finally felt empowered to do something.â
The city of Fenton Downtown Development Authority (DDA), in partnership with the city of Fenton, is proud to announce an exciting new initiative to help support the local business community called the âFenton Community Dollars eGift Cardâ program.
âDuring these difficult times, and now more than ever, the objective is to keep shopping local. We wanted something different to ramp-up our continued support of the Fenton business community,â Mayor Sue Osborn said.
Keeping Dollars Local
Exclusive to Fenton DDA businesses and specifically members of the âSafe, Strong & Supportive Campaign,â this is the first digital eGift Card program to be redeemable at any of Fentonâs participating restaurants, retailers and personal service providers, all in the Fenton DDA district (more join each day).
