Down six in the third quarter, Syracuse killed Georgetown’s man-up opportunity when the Hoyas attack lost his footing at X and dropped the ball. With a chance to recover and potentially spark a comeback in what turned into a scoreless third period for the Orange, Owen Seebold fired a shot. The ball crashed into a defender, and the Hoyas went on to tack on three more goals during the third quarter via Dylan Hess, Jake Carraway and Graham Bundy.

South Bend, Ind. Syracuse lacrosse coach John Desko said his team had a good week of preparation amid the Chase Scanlan turmoil, seemingly ready heading into its contest at Notre Dame on Saturday.
As unlikely as that sounds, perhaps Desko is right. Maybe Notre Dame is just 14 goals better than Syracuse, period.

South Bend, Ind. Syracuse lacrosse’s second crack at trying to stop Pat Kavanagh went even worse than the first.
The unstoppable attack racked up five goals and five assists to power his team past an overwhelmed SU squad 22-8 on Saturday at Arlotta Stadium.
The huge loss capped a week of turmoil for the Orange after leading goal scorer Chase Scanlan was reinstated to the team but then told by its captains that if he insisted on practicing with the entire group the rest of the players would walk off the field. Scanlan practiced on his own this week and did not make the trip to South Bend.
