Digital democracy, the elections are under attack from so many different arenas. We are aware of the russian meddling from 2016 and that seems to have expanded with china, iran, and other foreign actors trying to meddle in our elections. A lot of the misinformation coming out right now is coming from sources in addition to russia. It can be from candidates and campaigns and social media, facebook, twitter, google, there and it moves towards the problems of voting by mail. The National Story now is to whether you can trust the mail or not and that is what covid19 has brought to the fore. We need to provide those options. We should never put somebodys health at risk to exercise their constitutional right to vote. That is where a lot of people have turned to the mail including West Virginia, and what we have done, within the bounds of law, you have to stay within your state law, these elections are run by the state and within the states and then by the counties. The hearing on the senate health, education, labor and Pensions Committee will please come to order. We want to thank our staff for working through some technical difficulties this morning, and thank the senators and our witnesses or joining us from around the country at various offices. We are all following the attending physicians protocol for safe distancing, and those of us who are here are Wearing Masks on her weight in and sitting at least six feet apart while we are here.
