A KIRKBY Lonsdale pub which has been shortlisted for a business award is our Trader of the Week. The Royal Barn is a finalist in the Society of Independent Brewers Business Awards 2021, where it has been nominated in the rural section of the ‘best independent craft beer bar or pub’ category. Stu Taylor, a director of Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery, which owns the pub, said the team was ‘really pleased’ to have received the nomination after a difficult year in which The Royal Barn, like so many other businesses, has had to adapt amid the coronavirus pandemic. “We feel that the work that we’ve carried out in the barn in relation to the pandemic and Covid is second to none,” he said.
