Talked to one of the residents in the area this morning who i was asking him when i got here to the know exactly where the statue was because its no longer here and he was shocked because he was like wow i run by here every morning and its no longer here which is really strange to not see it so last week and the leaks weeding up the weeks leading up to this day. Well people in the area and protesters were calling for the removal or loot removal. Of the sir Francis Drake sculpture that was because of the according to them, sir Francis Drakes controversial past and saying that he had ties to slavery. Now hundreds of people last week take to the streets and demonstration asking not only for the removal of a sculpture out here but also they wanted removal from street signs as well as park locations.
