Elsewhere in the east bay a 10 yearold boy has died after being hit by a car in lafayette. It happened yesterday afternoon on merriewood drive right at the Lafayette Community park, the boy was riding his bicycle when someone driving a delivery car hit him. The boy died at a local hospital. The driver cooperated with police. In the south an emotional tribute in gilroy to remember the victims of the garlic festival shooting. The county says this extension will last until september 30th. This follows the original moratorium which passed back in may 20 or march 25th, a landlord under this moratorium cannot evict a tenant as long as a tenant gives notice within 30 days after the rent is due that they were unable to pay because a pandemic related financial struggles so this resolution provides now that ended with 90 days for rent to be paid. And the landlords cannot charge a late fee for the rent that during that period.
