GRANT COUNTY — A pair of stranded and lost hunters have been found safe following a two-day search in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness area according to a press release issued by the Grant County Sheriff’s office.
Global Rescue, an emergency rescue service provider received a distress signal from the hunter’s satellite transponder at 6:54 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 7. The hunters were reportedly out of water with one hunter suffering from the effects of dehydration on an unseasonably warm day.
A deputy responded to the call with the coordinates showing the pair’s location as being within the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness, somewhere off Table Mt. Trail. A search failed to locate the hunters that night and personnel returned to the area the following morning.
