what i think this story shows is that laws themselves are meaningless if they re not enforced. it brings it through an investigative process to the proper people. those were all side stepped in an apparent, as painted in the report, effort to protect the governor. in the interests of the women and the law itself all went by the wayside. we saw it also in the trump administration. laws are only as good as the paper they re written on. it is all about he said forcement. and there was a culture of nonenforcement around this sort of anti-sexual harassment type infrastructure that applies everywhere but is only as good as it is enforced. the new york assembly will look at whether they can impeach the governor. how do you think symbolically, you know, what impact would that have?
perfect-change agent for them? one would have to be delusional to think that. okay. it wasn t a change agent. okay. he was a change agent. you see perfect-change agent. i never said perfect-change agent. i didn t say perfect. just said how will they think he is a perfect-change agent. they didn t think that. i was wrong, when i said perfect. go on. good, we are getting somewhere. when they looked at the field, they said, all these guys are and women are the same, old, insider elitist. this guy played the game, knows the game. big celebrity. has lots of money. so they believed he couldn t be bought. and he seems to hate the same people i do. and he seems to hate the same things i do. and he is going to go in there and he is going to be disruptive. and i don t care what he says and i don t care what kind of guy he is because all these men and women stink. they are all low character so no different than anybody else. then, he gets in there and he is the worst example of
no different than anybody else. then he gets from and he is the worst example of everything they don t like about government. what this story shows is he is everything that he promised to change. i don t think anybody thought anything of what you just said. i think the people who wanted donald trump in said i m afraid that my voice as the plreeminen voice, i am afraid that it is not going to be the preeminent voice anymore. i think that he exploited the worst parts of people s personality, of their psyche and their thinking. both are true. this wasn t a change agent. both are true. the administration before, that was the hope and change administration. both are true. no. you can t tell me that both are true. i am telling you both are true. you can t say that a change agent is someone who comes in and what? moves the culture forward?
and on top of that, we ve had two weeks of testimony from people who consistently put forth a narrative during these impeachment hearings that the over and over again the refrain was talk to rudy, that donald trump instructed them to talk to rudolph giuliani, that president trump told the president of ukraine to talk to giuliani. giuliani is in the center of this entire thing. and one thing that the president did say in that interview yesterday was, well, giuliani has other clients. this shows us this is precisely why people go through security clearances when they work for the white house or they re vetted by the senate when they are a member of the state department doing diplomacy on behalf of the united states. it s to see if they have any financial interests or anything else that can pose a national security risk. what this story shows is that rudy giuliani was a walking national security risk. let s talk more about what
part about rene s reporting tonight is that republicans are saying you cannot have a quid pro quo not that you need it. but you cannot have a quid pro quo unless the ukrainians knew about the pressure. this story shows, well, yes. the ukrainians did know, and they spent hours even before he was inaugurated trying to figure out what to do about it. carl, even if they did not know, you know, that immediately on that late july phone call that the aid was already being held up, the fact that the aid was not there and the president had control of it and they desperately needed it, i mean that is essentially, you know, a sword hanging over them. and you have just described the high crime. you know, the impeachment clause of the constitution refers to treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors. this is about bribery. this is about the president of the united states attempting to
