Who was Stockton police Officer Jimmy Inn? Details emerge about 30-year-old

Stockton police Officer Jimmy Inn was just 30 years old when he was killed in the line of duty Tuesday. A longtime Stockton resident, the Ronald E. McNair High School and San Joaquin Delta College POST Academy graduate is remembered as an officer and a father. Inn is survived by his wife, Tela Inn, who is also a Stockton police officer and a San Joaquin Delta College graduate, as well as a 7-month-old son, a 12-year-old stepdaughter and a 14-year-old stepson.  Inn was hired in December 2015 by the Stockton Police Department, where he became part of the Field Operations Division. He was one of 18 new officers introduced by Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones during a welcoming ceremony in July 2016. The ceremony was just a week after he graduated from the Delta College POST Academy. Inn was also a member of the Stockton Police Department Honor Guard. 

Stockton police officer shot on assignment, investigation continues

Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones shared more details surrounding the shooting that claimed the life of a Stockton police officer and another man, disclosing that the suspect had allegedly been strangling a child when he was shot, Jones said during a news conference early Tuesday evening.  Officer Jimmy Inn, 30, was killed shortly after arriving at the scene of a domestic disturbance on La Cresta Way in north Stockton. The Stockton police dispatch center received a call reporting a domestic disturbance situation at 9:45 a.m. The caller reported hearing screaming, saw a woman with a ripped shirt who was bleeding, and appeared to have been assaulted.
