CLEMSON, S.C. - For the second time this season, the freshman duo of Stewart Aronson and Marko Mesarovic have been named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. The weekly honor comes after the pairing went 3-0 on the court for Clemson.Opening up the weekend against Radford, Aronson and Mesarovic dominated in doubles as they were the first court to secure win by taking down the Highlander duo of Tom Saporta and Manfredi Vergine, 6-1. With help from the freshman, Clemson was able to clinch the doubles point after the court three duo of Wissam Abderrahman and Max Damm earned a victory as well. The Tigers went on to tab the victory over Radford, 7-0Against Georgia Southern, the now two-time weekly award winners were responsible for securing the doubles point for the Tigers as they helped clinch the point after taking down the pairing of Pol Del Castillo and Dimitris Paliouras in an electric, 6-3 victory. CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers add on to their undefeated home-streak as they run past SMU, 5-2 to secure their third victory of the weekend. The duo of Max Damm and Wissam Abderrahman clinched the doubles point for the Tigers as Ryuhei Azuma secured the overall victory for Clemson in singles. Clemson 5, SMU 2 The Tigers brought the energy early in doubles as they were leading on all courts to start. The Mustangs took the first doubles victory of the match but Clemson was able to answer back as the freshman duo of Marko Mesarovic and Stewart Aronson recorded a win 6-3 against Maks Silagy and Julian Steinhausen. With the doubles tied 1-1, it was left to the duo of Damm and Abderrahan to get it done and secure the doubles point for Clemson. After an intense back and forth battle, the pairing was able to record the tiebreaker win of 7-6 (7-1) to award the Tigers the doubles point and give Clemson the 1-0 lead. COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Clemson Men’s Tennis team went toe-to-toe against the nation’s second-ranked team but ultimately fell in a narrow 4-2 decision in the ITA Kickoff Weekend opener against South Carolina (2-0) in the Palmetto Series Presented by SC Education Lottery. The Tigers (2-1) claimed the doubles point decisively and battled closely in singles, but ultimately could not hold on to pull the upset in the 115th all-time meeting between the programs. “I was glad to see our guys come out the right way in doubles today and it paid off,” said Head Coach Brandon Wagner, coaching in his first rivalry match. “We knew it was going to be a battle no matter what - and it was. Credit to South Carolina for playing well in some important moments at the end. It was great experience for some of our freshmen to fight til the end and learn from this moment.
