I am writing to express my disappointment with your recent reporting on the proposed Covered Bridge juvenile detention center proposed in Newbury. Your reporting fails to identify two important arguments why the proposed site at 487 Stevens Place in Newbury is not at all appropriate for this facility. 1) The proposed site is over 22 miles from the St. Johnsbury State Police barracks, which will be responsible for providing police services for the facility.
