families all over the country. the president announced this week that all u.s. combat troops will leave iraq by the end of the year. welcome news at places like ft. bliss in texas where our marty savidge is will speaking with families reaction to the president s decision. it has to be bittersweet. reporter: there s always that. that is a concern for any military town. those that are coming home and those that continue to serve. we re at ft. bliss army base outside of el paso, texas. there s an air show going on, if you hear noise going on around me, don t be alarmed. bliss is exactly what they re feeling today. 3,500 families, to be exact, here in this country. they re the ones that have been told that their loved ones serving in iraq will now be coming home, according to the president, by the end of the year. many of them only deployed in july and august. and the families anticipated that they wouldn t see them all return until at least the same time next year. that has a
