Military Science to Commission Five Army Officers Friday

JONESBORO – Five new Army officers will be commissioned by the Department of Military Science at Arkansas State University in a ceremony Friday, Dec. 18.
The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in the Military Science building, 1921 Aggie Road, when A-State candidates Steven Crow of Salem, Robert Adkins Jr. of Sherrill and Landon Grimmett of North Little Rock (and Arkansas State University-Beebe) will be commissioned as second lieutenants into the United States Army Reserve.
At 11 a.m., a ceremony will be held for cadets from the Harding University detachment of the Red Wolf Battalion with the commissioning of two students as second lieutenants. They are Samuel Wilson of Jenks, Okla., and Ryan Tabor of Crossville, Tenn., into the U.S. Army Reserves.

The ceremony was set for 10 in the Military Science building, 1921 Aggie Road, when A-State candidate Steven Crow of Salem joined four others to be commissioned as second lieutenants into the United States Army Reserve.A-State Chancellor Kelly Damphousse provided the keynote address followed by words from Lt. Col. Joseph Loar, professor of military science.
All five have earned diplomas from their respective universities. Crow’s Bachelor of Science degree is agricultural studies and will be in the Army’s field artillery.
