The Temporary by American Place officially opened Friday in Waukegan welcoming nearly 10,000 visitors through 4 a.m. Sunday, including 400 invited guests at a pre-opening gala, to its gaming tables, slot machines and restaurant, starting the era of casino gaming in Lake County.
McGranahan offered her theories on inflation and the economy overall at the Lake County Chamber of Commerce’s 15th-annual Economic Forecast Event Thursday at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, giving the more than 120 people there an idea of what to expect.
The Temporary by American Place officially opens at 8 p.m. Friday near the Fountain Square shopping center in Waukegan bringing casino gambling to Lake County, and with it a hoped for economic boost for the area.
Ivy Hall hopes to open its dispensary at 960 Waukegan Road in a few weeks, while Planet 13 intends to begin operating a larger one at 4000 Northpoint Blvd. over the summer.
Jason Nault, the district’s associate superintendent for equity, innovation and accountability, said each avenue of information-gleaning was helpful, with focus groups allowing for open discussion about issues.
