Remote monitoring of the fire panels for a period of one year was awarded to Get Security, the only company to submit a quote, which already monitors fire panels at the Norplex Pool and the water treatment plant. The total cost for the equipment, installation and 12 months of monitoring is $9,720 plus taxes. Coun. Les Ellsworth asked if city administration had looked at a longer contract than one year. “We only budgeted for one year of funding for it,” said city manager Anthony McInnis. Councillors also approved the purchase of 38 thermal imaging cameras for the fire department, the cost of which is being covered by a grant from the province.

Alfie Sims, 20, was told by a judge at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday he ‘couldn’t tell him what a chance he’d been given’ to only receive three years in custody - after he’d been caught with £2,500-worth of heroin and crack cocaine at the Horspath athletics ground in May. By chance, it was the same judge – Recorder Michael Roques – who as a prosecuting barrister built the case against Sims for perverting the course of justice by conspiring to dispose of key evidence

Pets at Home, Newbury. Image via Google A MOTHER and daughter assaulted another woman outside Pets at Home following an argument over social distancing, a court has found. Mary Ann Farley, 42, and Lucy Farley, 19, both of The Oaks, Newbury, attacked the woman outside the popular animal store in Newbury in what was described as an act of “excessive self-defence.” The “2-on-1” attack left the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, with soreness and swelling on her head. Both Mary Ann and Lucy Farley said they were acting in self-defence after it was claimed the woman initially ‘elbow barged’ the mother in the ribs.
March for Meals campaign launched to help feed home-bound seniors

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. The Executive Club of Staten Island has joined forces with Meals on Wheels of Staten Island to raise funding and awareness for its campaign, #MarchForMeals.
The exclusive business group, created by young business owners, has volunteered to deliver food to seniors across the borough for the entire month of March.
To engage more volunteers and donations, the professionals are documenting their experiences on social media.
“Part of our mission is to partner with organizations and give back to our community. We are honored to work with Meals On Wheels for their #MarchForMeals Campaign to deliver food to home-bound seniors while also trying to raise funding so they can continue helping seniors in need,” said Massimo DiDonna, newly elected president of the Executive Club of Staten Island.
