Out. It is not easy getting and 900 pound elephant seal to move even to safety when it seems content to stretch out in the low tide mud in sonoma county. To rescuers from the Marine Mammal center gave it a try. They tried splashing it, making a lot of noise, even nudging it. When the seal moved it did not go where the rescuers wanted. Instead it went in the opposite direction. She is an elephant seal, she does not have land predators, even if it is 2 feet of water she has the advantage.
