can t get involved in that stuff. and what penalty does mitch mcconnell pay if the senate actually does this, just the wrath of the president? i was going to take this segment in a different direction, the fact he s sitting with stephanopoulos, i believe that trump is going to do a pivot forward. he is the ultimate transactionallest, survivalist and to me if all of a sudden to your point just walking things back, if all of a sudden he comes out with some health care thing, some big opioid thing, that we saw it last week when he just gave a normal speech and was presidential. so credi think he s going to ha the potential he did it thursday night with kim kardashian. that is the whole appeal to the african-american vote in the country. so he s 100% going to do that.

one point trump said about russia s intervention in the 2016 election rerebuffed them. we rebuffed the are you russians. that s exactly wrong. you remember the trump tower meeting when the russians said hey, we re trying to help you guys secretly. we want you to meet with ape sear and what did donald trump jr. now famously say? i love it. it wasn t a rebuff. it was an embrace. so when he says something like that to stephanopoulos to george or the clip you did show when he said i answered all the questions and he goes on about obstruction, what do you do? do you stop the interview? do you look him dead in the eye and say mr. president, you are not telling the truth or give him a platform for this continuous gas lighting and denial of reality that is just getting more and more extensive and even more absurd each day. i think it s a pretty deep question. i take your point. it s a big question particularly in how everyone deals with it.
